The Carson Foundation’s primary objective is to provide not only funding, but also a variety of programs and services to all people with special needs in our community.

We hope to accomplish this by partnering with fellow not-for-profit organizations that have goals and objectives similar to ours. Together we are certain that we can make a significant difference in the lives of people with special needs.

Over the next two years, the Carson Foundation will aim to provide the following programs and services to all people with special needs:


Adult Day Programs:
  • Provide after-school program for adults with special needs.
  • Focusing on work and social activities within their respective communities.
  • Focusing on personal and social life skills.
  • Working towards independence, and providing opportunities for all adults with special needs to play an important role within their community.

Respite Programs for children with special needs:
  • Weeknight and weekend respite programs for families who have children with special needs.
  • A safe environment where parents can bring their children.
  • Sessions focusing on life skills, art, music, swimming, social activities, as well as outings within the communities.
  • Working one-on-one with families to help reach their goals for their children.
  • Overnight respite services for parents. A safe environment for parents to drop off their children for an evening or weekend.
  • Christmas, March Break, and summer programs for individuals with special needs that are still in school.

Consulting Services for all families and individuals with special needs:
  • Provide families with consultation early in their children’s lives, helping to lead families in the right direction.
  • Provide free consultation regarding services such as speech therapy, physical therapy, work placements, etc.
  • Establish monthly support groups for families or single parents coping with stress or anxiety related to raising a child with special needs
